    We're stuck historically. We know the future. It's Holocaust. Understanding Holocaust is easy. The Bible is the founding document of the world's first military industrial complex -- the Roman sword industry. It cites tribes hating Jews over 35 times. The Bible conflates faith & love with ancient hate & war. That's it's job -- to sustain & exploit prejudices. Mein Kampf is the Christian Bible 2.0.

    this approach to eastern europe esp the ukraine, helps to distinguish the strange narratives about Russia's 'being under attack' by the west, versus its aspiration to keep a foothold in eastern europe, exemplified by its own choreographed war. 'falsifying history' is easier when solid historical investigations are not done. snyder feeds this debate with facts arising from intentions. not the other way around. cf transforming intentions into 'facts': the WW 2 onset was facilitated by intentions forged into 'facts' such as why germany lost WW1. the warnings of the generals in 1914 were forgotten and conspiracy myths were put in their place. it is more than time that this will happen, too, re the ukraine war. it may form a basis for re-considering the historical claims. a claim is not a justification for just invading another country. in this way history has been paved with disasters. it is time this will change.

    The reason why there is a lengthy introduction is because he is the KEYNOTE speaker. The main event. Everyone has already heard other people talk about other things, and now they're introducing the most famous and authoritative speaker of the event. Its partly to thank Dr. Synder for doing it, and partly because he deserves and is benefited by an intro of everythibg impressive hes done; which happenss to be long.

    Why did the Jews leave Israel in the first place and thus not being a wanted nation in many countries, did they not try to move back to their country of origin? If you compare the Jews to the Muslims who invaded the Iberian Peninsula and were expelled from Europe, the Jews have not been a more desirable group in Europe than the Muslims. The reason why Muslims are treated with tolerance is because many Muslim countries have oil, which Western countries are still dependent on for the time being, but nothing else. But what do Jews have that makes them tolerated in Western countries? The answer is: Jews don't really have anything that Westerners really need. The Jewish diaspora is actually some kind of colonization, because otherwise they would have merged with Western countries and abandoned their religion and old-fashioned ways, because that also happens in Western countries where people separate from the church and the scientific world view is strengthened. Jews can therefore be considered a self-interested group just like Muslims. It is claimed that the Jews had no part in Germany's defeat in the First World War. It is largely a lie, because the world economy has been well integrated since the industrial revolution at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, and the role of the Jews in it has been self-interested, just as can be seen in the actions of the Israeli state today.

    Mr. Hayes is an excellent lecturer and historian. There’s another, longer lecture on RUclips where he goes into much greater detail. But I take umbrage with his casual analogy of the WWII sentiment of many Americans who opposed accepting greater numbers of desperate Jews with contemporary immigration policy. Dismissing the argument that there’s a concern nowadays about terrorists entering the U.S. illegally doesn’t hold water. The 9/11 attacks counted for something, and the continued threat of Islamic jihadi extremism throughout the globe is extremely relevant.

    I’m pretty sure that almost all of those righteous among the nations who rescued Jewish people came from good families who taught them the difference between right and wrong along with teaching them the importance of loving thy neighbor as yourself and thou shall not kill. After all people often become the way they are due to learning it from their parents or guardians or a good role model.

    The music is great, but I would hope that students would be interested in providing more descriptions about the music instead of just doing the performance. The educational aspect of music needs to get more emphasis. Remember that your audience is no longer trained music students, but everyone from all walks of life.

    Legitimate historians love outdoing each other to find new data and/or interpretations. The sort of thing Zundel and Irving were doing was different. They began with an ideologically driven conclusion, then worked backwards to cherry pick stuff that fitted it, to the point that the outcome misrepresented reality.

    At Kingdom Halls throughout the entire world, women are not permitted to be in a leadership role! Why the doible-standard???? Why the EXCEPTION for this woman to be in a leadership position???

  • @cultytalk
    @cultytalk 3 месяца назад

    WHY is this woman representing Jehovah's Witnesses?? Women in The "Watchtower Society" aka "The ORDER" aka "Jehovah's Witnesses" are NOT ALLOWED to even TOUCH a Jehovah's Witness Elder’s manual (entitled Shepherd the Flock of God), so how is she representing Jehovah's Witnesses as an "EXPERT"? Also, WOMEN in this organization who grew up as Jehovah's Witnesses were DISCOURAGED from getting any further education after High School because we were told "Armageddon is coming any moment!" I graduated Highschool in 1988!! Luckily for me, i wasn't buying the BS elders were selling & i went on to get my education instead of being baptized & dedicating myself to this horrendous organization that violates human rights with their blood policy, Two-witness rule on CSA & Their policy of SHUNNING ex-Members! However, my BRILLIANT sister who graduated with HIGH HONORS in Highschool was also discouraged by JW Leadership from attending higher education and as a baptized JW, she complied and instead became a slave worker at Bethel HQ in Patterson at the time, which she was promptly PRAISED FOR by leadership of JW! So forgive me if im completely confused on HOW this woman Jolene Chu was able to bypass all the discouragement & go forward with her pursuit of a PHD as an active Jehovah's Witness!

    I live in France and have met people who hid and saved Jews. Dr Snyder gives short shrift to those who have a moral compass and continue to be guided by it even in catastrophic times. I will forever admire those who put themselves and their families at risk to do the right thing. Such people do exist --and they are not a footnote to history. Diplomats have powers that enable them to be particularly useful and humanitarian--but most of them did not exercise them. Those who acted consciously deserve our respect and honor too.

    Im no denier at all no doubt it happened and is as abhorrent as its portrayed. but I d see the camps at the end not being what they were found as upon liberation and thus some things should be fleshed out. just because anything ignored fuels bad people but you take it and own it they shrive into the darkness again. Im not a proponent of closing a subject to any further exploration and if meets accepted criteria then adjusting what we know should be done on principal. again Im not a denier just that I can see from history how fallible humans are
